Seven Hotel Paris – Just a Little Bit Funky
Looking to stay somewhere a little different next time you are in Paris? The Seven Hotel may be just what you are looking for.
The hotel has just scored gongs in the Tripadvisor Travellers choice awards as one of the most romantic and trendiest hotels in the city and based on the customer reviews it is not hard to see why.
The Seven Hotel is a small 4 star boutique hotel with seven unique suites, as well a a number of smaller but no less funky rooms. The hotel is located on the left bank of the River Siene, in the 5th arrondissement very close to the Latin Quarter and its vibrant atmosphere. The area is a mix of higher education establishments, museums and churches as well as the Panthéon. The Luxembourg Gardens and Notre Dame Cathedral ar located a short distance away and the streets are lines with small bistros, cafes and restaurants.
For James Bond fans the 007 suite is a mix of vintage chic and modern design complete with golden gun shaped lamps, a 160cm large TV screen and separate lounge area. The downstairs bar will be happy to make you proper dry martini before you retire your bedroom (complete with mirror ceiling)
Another of my favourite rooms in this hotel is the Suite la Diamant Nior (The Black Diamond Suite). The black, white and silver colour palette really highlights the Swarovski Crystal encrusted bathtub and basin. The room also has a mirror that becomes a TV at the press of a button.
Some of the other suites include an Alice in Wonderland themed room, with a rabbit emerging from the wall and a range of psychedelic lighting options and a chess board set up between two toilets in the bathroom. The On/Off Suite allows you to change the decor of the room at the flick of a switch with the walls changing right before your eyes. The largest suite is the Lovez-vous suite which features a 220cm round bed, a fireplace, a cowhide covered bath, as well as a two person jacuzzi on the terrace.
The suites can be a bit on the expensive side through, with rates starting from €367 for the Alice, On/Off and Marie Antoinette suites, €447 for the 007, Black Diamond and Sublime suites and €667 for the Lovez-vous suite.
There are other rooms available at the hotel from €167 a night. The “standard” rooms all feature extensive use of transparent or mirrored walls and shelving and fibre optic lighting. The stand out feature has to be the beds though,. the designer has made them to give the impression that they are levitating in the room.
You can read reviews about the hotel, which seems to be a favourite for honeymooners here, or you can book it in your local currency here
