Whingers of the week: A rat named Erroll

Share

It’s not often that I come across a single social media whinge that is so odd that it gets its own Whingers of the Week entry. I found one.

Virginia (known as ‘Ginny’ according to her Facebook profile) posted the following complaint on the Qantas Facebook page. If the complaint itself doesn’t get you laughing, some of the comments from Facebook users will…

I don’t know about you, but when I travel with my pet rat I make sure it travels in style in my Louis Vuitton pet carrier. I wouldn’t want the poor dear to travel in steerage with the bags now would I?

Adding to Virginia’s woes with Facebook readers is the fact that she has named her female rat ‘Erroll’. I’m assuming she also dresses it up like this, or this, or this - seemingly adding to it’s confused sense of gender identity.

I won’t wax lyrical about Erroll’s plight as it seems so many others have done this for me…

Whilst the customer has a legitimate complaint about her rat being able to travel one way and not the other, one must question the use of social media to bring this to the airlines attention. Afterall, travelling with a rat is just plain cray-cray. Just like walking a cat.
